Is Sex Selection really that Bad??????

All this current hoopla surrounding sex selective abortion completely befuddles me.... Don't get me wrong I am proud to be a woman and am completely for the fairer sex....... but there is an old English maxim that says that 'Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind' and I completely believe in it........

Give birth to more women, they say… But to do what? Treat them like cattle or even worse… huh… if you cannot guarantee a woman a life of (I wouldn’t say equal, that’s way too optimistic) some opportunities, why give her a life at all?

A friend of the fairer sex, today remarked that she wished an expecting relative had a girl, and no sooner did she say this, that, she clucked in horror and proclaimed, a boy would be better, as at least he would get to live his dreams out!!!!!!!!!

Fighting for more women in Rajasthan or any part of the country (Delhi, Bombay or Guwahati)???? Huh… do the self proclaimed holy crusaders have any idea what life the poor girl will be subjected to….. do they have any idea how a fourth or even the first girl in an Indian village be treated like, given away like liabilities to dowry mongers, no chance to an education or a semblance of life… the point here is that the more the daughters are, of such families, the poorer their quality of life will be…. Is it not then better, that they do not come to life at all?

Why not encourage village people who already have girls to opt for sex selective abortion? It not only saves a child from a life of abject disregard, it also improves the chances of existing girls being treated better…..
I mean chuck villages look at cities, how safe are women in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta or Guwahati for that matter? Can a lowly woman legitimately refuse the advances of an honorable man, without being, molested—live on camera, raped, mutilated, attacked with acid or even killed…. Delhi being the capital of India in all spheres has furnished women, death sentences, for crimes as ghastly as refusing a drink (think Jessica Lall)…..

Just to mention, that a woman loses all rights to reproach if she has a) been out in the night (alone or accompanied) b) had been to a pub and/or had a drink or two (now this is what I call an invitation) c) knew the perpetrator (as a friend, boyfriend or acquaintance, we aren’t that choosy)… not that she had much in the first place, but these three are complete deal breakers…..

A gentle caveat: Relatives, fathers, brothers and friends supporting such immoral women may also be liable to punishment (think Ruchika Girhotra’s family, Keenan Santos and Ruben Fernandes)

The ones mentioned above apply, if women have been bad enough to venture out of their homes… but what of the cases of domestic violence, marital rapes et al… well these are fitting punishments of crimes ranging from getting inadequate dowry, to refusing to obey their personal Gods (read husbands)

Well these you may say are extreme cases, but what of the many daily penalties to be imposed, on a woman’s dressing, mingling and what not (think all daily activities)…. From being not allowed to pursue a course of their choice to a job and well, also other hobbies (can’t be leaving out anything)… Marrying a man of their choice??? That is…uh… well, out of syllabus, as they say…..

Trivia: A code for being a good woman cannot be published, as items under scrutiny, when put to paper may well exceed global paper production!!!!!!! They can also not be stored digitally, as servers as large as Africa will be needed to process them!!!!!

Just having a life is not important; it must be worth living……

Giving birth to more girls is not going to change anything, if we do not change the way we treat them….

And therefore I appeal, to all, to be kind to the unborn girls and kill them, so they do not have to live, a life thus….
